Introduction of SOUTH INDIAN HEALTHY, SPICY & DELICIOUS “BEANS PATOLI CURRY”


BEANS PATOLI CURRY curry is a traditional South Indian recipe, widely famous in Andhra and Tamilnadu. People from Tamilnadu call it as “Parippu Usli”. The main ingredient of this recipe is Bengal gram or Senaga pappu, which is considered to be a high source of protein.

I have learnt this recipe from my mother. This Patoli can gel with any vegetables of your choice. I hope you will enjoy this recipe. Let us get into this recipe quickly..!

Preparation Steps of SOUTH INDIAN HEALTHY, SPICY & DELICIOUS “BEANS PATOLI CURRY”


Method:

  • Soak Bengal gram in water for 2 hrs
  • Cut beans into small pieces of 2cms in size approximately
  • Wash the soaked Bengal gram thoroughly & remove full water
  • Put it in mixie jar along with 8 red chilies, 4 green chilies, curry leaves, Zera, hing, salt & turmeric powder
  • Grind it into dry paste without adding water
  • Mix this dry paste & small pieces of beans** thoroughly
  • Take a bowl & apply oil to that bowl inside
  • Put the mixture in a bowl & cook it in cooker without putting cooker weight
  • Cook it for 15 minutes
  • After cooling, take that mixture out from cooker
  • Make that mixture into powder with hand (steamed powder)
  • Place a pan on stove & heat it for few seconds
  • Add oil & let it heat
  • Add urad dal, mustard, 2 red chilies, zera, curry leaves & fry it
  • Add hing after frying & keep the stove in sim
  • Now add the steamed powder in the above pan & mix it thoroughly with spoon
  • Cover the pan with lid for 3 minutes
  • Open the lid & add coriander leaves better taste & switch off the stove
  • Beans patoli curry is ready.

**Alternatively, we can add not only Beans, but also we can prepare this curry with Drum sticks/Mullakkada, Little guard/Dondakayalu, Cabbagge, Cauli flower with the same procedure.

Serve this  hot curry with rice, chapati or puri.
