Mango Kulfi is a traditional dessert of India. A set, frozen cream dessert flavored with fruits, nuts or spices such as saffron, perfect for the Holi, traditional and easy to elaborate if you follow the step by step procedure in the recipe below.

If suddenly you find guests coming over then they can be served Mango Kulfi. Kulfi is an Indian version of ice cream which has a shape like a cone. It is a creamy dessert and denser than usual ice cream, so it doesn’t easily melt.

Preparation Steps of Mango Kulfi Indian ice cream with a mango flavor, tempting Indian dessert


  1. Scoop the flesh out of the mangoes and puree.
  2. Mix the mango purée, condensed milk and lime juice together to form a smooth mixture, (For more flavour, add 1/4 tsp. saffron threads )
  3. Place the double cream in a large bowl and whisk until it forms soft peaks. In separate bowl, always rememmber to have the double cream in the fridge cool to easy this procedure, or use a metal bowl to keep the cold, that helps the peaking process.
  4. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mango mixture, thoroughly combining the two but taking care not to knock too much air from the whipped cream
  5. Pour into moulds and freeze till set, around 2 hours, (use a clean freezer, dont mix with the meat, fish part of the freezer)
  6. Slice and serve chilled.

To serve, carefully remove the kulfis from their moulds and place 2 in the centre of each plate. And decorate as you wish in the Michelin Star restaurant recipe they spooned mango purée across the plate, or garnishing with freshly diced mango (also can add some jelly), pistachio nuts and a little freshly grated coconut as in the pictures michelin star recipe. Decorate also with saffron threads if desired, As the flavors of kesar, mango, and dry fruits blend along well you can also use almonds...This dessert also can be served with a stick as a popsicle..... Your imagination is the limit..
