Coconut Rava Paak:

No Indian meal or festival is complete without a dessert. It can be  halwa , kheer or laddus. Here we have for you a special South Indian treat ,Coconut Rava Paak. Enjoy the goodness of coconut, rava and dry fruits with each bite of this coconut rava paak.

Why coconut and rava?

Coconut and rava both are regulars in the South Indian cuisine.

Coconut flesh , coconut water and coconut milk is put to great use in cooking. Many dishes use coconut oil also.  Coconut-based gravies are rich in taste and texture. And the coconut desserts are simply to die for. Coconut barfis, coconut laddus and even coconut kheer are few mouth-watering coconut desserts.

Cooking with coconut is easy and there are endless dishes which you can make with coconut.

Rava on the other hand, is a favourite in both North and South Indian cuisine. Rava dishes include upma, pongal, rava idli, rava dosa etc. are simple and yummy.

Coconut Rava Paak has its origins in the  West Godavari region of Andhra Pradesh. It mainly uses white coconut meat. The rava adds a crunch and coconut gives its sweetness. The addition of almonds, cashews or raisins completes the dish.

This dessert is relatively healthy because it is not deep-fried. In this recipe, roast the almonds and rava in ghee. In a separate pan, mix milk and sugar and let it boil. Add cardamom powder, powdered dry fruits and fried suji one by one. Stir the mixture quickly till it makes a uniform paste.

Take a plate and grease it with ghee. Spread the paak over it and cut it into pieces. (Cut it while it is warm). Let it cool. Your coconut rava paak is ready.

You can also make laddus with the same mixture.

Preparation Steps of Coconut Rava Paak Yummy Delectable Sweet


  • Take a pan (Mukudu) & place it on stove
  • Add 4 tsp ghee in the pan & heat it
  • Once it is hot, add badam & fry it & remove from the pan
  • In the same pan, add suji & fry it till it appears in lite brown colour
  • Take another pan & pour boiled milk & sugar
  • Boil till bubbles are seen (Theega paakam)
  • Sim the stove
  • Mean while, spread some ghee in a plate & keep it ready
  • Add balance ghee, ilaichi powder, kaaju powder, dry coconut powder & suji immediately one by one very fast & mix it thoroughly
  • Switch off the stove & immediately pour this item in ghee plate & spread it
  • Place badam pieces in sequence on the paste & cut the paste into pieces of required sizes before it becomes cool (Should cut into pieces when the item is warm)
  • Tasty, delicious & hygienic Rava Paak is ready.

**Alternatively Kaaju & badam can be exchanged & even raisins (dried grapes) can be used.
