Cabbage is a least favorite vegetable to most of the people but it is very healthy vegetable. The recipe uses split bengal gram (Chana dal/senagapappu) which is boiled to the point it’s cooked but still holds it’s shape and not mashed. This curry is special in Krishna and Guntur districts.

These amazing recipes provide your daily protein along with a serving of veggie. This curry can be made & use the water from cooked lentils to prepare Charu/Rasam or can drink it’s water normally as it is very much healthy. I hope you will enjoy this recipe. Let us get into this recipe quickly..!

Preparation Steps of Cabbage Chana Dal Curry Dry Nutritious Vegetable


Method:

  • Pour water in a bowl
  • Add turmeric powder, red chili powder & mix it with spoon
  • Now add senaga pappu & chopped cabbage in the bowl
  • Cover it with plate & cook it in cooker
  • Cook it till three whistles comes & switch off the stove
  • Let the cooler cool
  • Open the cooker after it is cooled & take the bowl out
  • Drain/filter the water from the bowl
  • Now take a pan & put oil in it & heat it
  • Add minapa gullu, mustard, red chili pieces, zera & mix it thoroughly
  • Add green chili pieces, curry leaves, hing & fry it till green chili becomes soft
  • Now add salt, drained cabbage & senagapappu in the pan & mix it thoroughly
  • Cover the pan with lid for 3 minutes
  • Add chopped coriander leaves & switch off the stove
  • Cabbage senaga pappu kura is ready to serve.

**This can be served with hot rice, chapatti or puri.
